The Beatles at the Railway Hotel
Yes, we know. The pub is called the Railway, and we have got NOTHING to do with Railways, Trains, Tracks or anything like it. Instead we have a pub which is themed around one of our favourite bands of all time... The Beatles!
John, Paul, Ringo and George are all around our pub. We have got pictures of them,
posters of them, copies of the birth certificates of them, copies of newspapers of
them, replicas of their guitars, Beatles music menu’s in our Bistro, replicas of
their golden discs, and a life sized statue of Elvis over the door. (A life size
statue of Elvis? -
We love the music that we hear in our pub all of the time. But sometimes, when you are feeling mellow, sometimes the oldies are just unbeatable. Yes, now they date back to the 1960’s, but for Jane in particular, the Fab Four have qualities which just can’t be beaten.
‘They are not just for the older generation’ says Jane. ‘Lots of younger people really like the sound of The Beatles. Lets face it, much of the contemporary music scene is based on their music, and their willingness to challenge the boundaries, to push the envelope, and to make music like nobody has ever done so before (or since!)’
Even if you don’t share Jane’s enthusiasm for the fab four, the relics, photographs and newspapers plastered all over the bar area of the pub make for a very interesting browse when you come in for a drink. And don’t forget to take the time to spot Elvis too. Maybe you could even given him a wave on the way in. Who knows? Rumours of his death may have been exaggerated!
