We pride ourselves on the comfort and companionship which the Railway Hotel provides. While lots of our customers are regulars, who enjoy popping in to meet their friends and neighbours for a drink and the opportunity to unwind, we also welcome newcomers. As the Irish saying goes, ‘there is no such thing as a stranger - only a friend you have yet to meet’.

Whether you just want to sit alone or with friends having a quiet chat, or are looking for a game of pool, whether you want to watch a game of football on our two plasma TVs, or to join one of the several sports teams that The Railway Hotel hosts, you are welcome to join us. Don’t forget that if the weather is nice we have a lovely covered patio area at the front of the hotel from where you can watch the world (and the trains) going by.

We at the Railway Hotel love music, and that shows. We want to encourage live talent to come and play and let the world hear what you have to offer. With this in mind, we have a live band on every Friday and Saturday night. As well as that, we have Karaoke here with Andy every Thursday too.

Our music offerings are wide ranging, but we try to engage contemporary musicians who have something to say about the world in which we all live.

Nigel enthuses about the activities based in the pub. ‘We have got two large screen plasma TVs which allows us to show major sporting events, an excellent pool room, and a whole series of sports teams based here in the pub. As well as sports though, we feel we are the number one music venue in town. People travel for miles to come to see us at the Railway Hotel.. We hope you wiill too.
